I just can’t stop thinking about it!
- Where is the Glorious Church?
- What did Jesus finish? Why does it matter to you?
UNDERSTAND… “Jesus said unto them (the apostles), My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to FINISH His work” (John 4:34). Here the will of God is clearly defined, “to finish the work given.”
Just before Jesus was arrested, He prayed His High Priestly prayer saying (John 17:4), “I Brought glory to you on earth by FINISHING the WORK you gave me.”
On the cross, Jesus triumphantly cried out, “IT is finished.” What could be more important than He accomplished the purpose for which He came? The Greek word for finished” is tetelestai, an accounting term that means “paid in full.” Jesus paid it all. NOT that He owed the Father anything; rather, Jesus eliminated the debt owed by humankind.
DID JESUS FINISH THE WORK? Or… does He need to come back and die again? This is THE vital question that you must ask! Most church sermons make you feel guilty – Most believers live like they don’t understand what is finished. We are taught that we must DO something more… “If I just prayed more… If I could be more spiritual.”
To me, these are the GREATEST WORDS EVER SPOKEN! For all the earth. The “Finished Work” is the most significant Bible truth for you to know!
GRACE + nothing = Salvation
I have built my life and ministry around this one point — It is FINISHED. All my books are about
this concept. To be sure, there is fierce opposition to the message of life and freedom!
Beloved, most of us have fallen very short of realizing what this “Great Exchange” really means! We know in part – and yet our understanding is veiled. We all need greater revelation on what is finished. It is finished in us as we comprehend it!
How can we reap what has already been sown? How can we live in joy, happiness, and peace, now and forevermore?
On the Cross, Jesus brought forth the Kingdom – one that does not come with observation, nor will it ever — because it is IN YOU AND ME. The Kingdom has come!
Soooo, WHAT DID JESUS FINISH? … Everybody breathe.
The message of the Kingdom is the Finished Work
We’ve been talking about the Finished Work! To me, these are the GREATEST WORDS EVER SPOKEN! For all the earth. The “Finished Work” is the most significant Bible truth for you to know!
To be sure, there is fierce opposition to the message of life and freedom!
1. Beloved, we are weakened because many of us have fallen short of realizing what this “Great Exchange” of salvation really means! We know in part – and yet our understanding is veiled. We all need greater revelation on what is finished. It is finished in us as we comprehend it!
The great question for the Church today is “How can we reap what has ALREADY been sown?” How can we live in joy, happiness, and peace, now and forever-more?
2. We are weak because we are waiting for the Kingdom to come… one of these days, oh glory.
On the Cross, Jesus brought forth the Kingdom – one that does not come with observation, nor will it ever — because it is IN YOU AND ME. The Kingdom has already come! We are to bring this heavenly reality to earth. NOW.
On the Cross, Jesus brought forth the Kingdom – one that does not come with observation, nor ever will, because it is IN YOU AND ME.
Consider, of Jesus did NOT FINISH everything… then He is not the Savior of the world, there is no need for the New Testament, no need for Church, no resurrection (He would not have had victory over death without finishing), no reason for celebration, and therefore, no hope.
If you or I can do anything more to make it happen, then it is not finished.
3. The church is weak because they think God is MAD at them and everybody else. They feel that they have to do something more to make this angry God happy. I have to pray more. Fast more. But… God is NOT MAD. In fact, God is happy. He loves you and wants you to fill your mind with who you are IN HIM, and Who He is in you!
4. The church is weak because of internal division instead gaining unity. We seem to be looking for difference as reasons to separate. Love God MY WAY or it isn’t right! (Books to write on this point!)
5. The church is weak because it soooo many stay “Rapture ready!” Too many think that life will be easy and we can escape the hard times. Believers are weak because they have not been prepared to be strong and overcome. We all need to be able to stand in hard times and endure. To strategize. To know what to do next.
We’ll talk about more reasons next newsletter.
By ongoing revelation, we embrace the Kingdom rule that we were ALREADY given. We take our place. As joint heirs with Jesus, we have victory over the world, over sin, and over Satan. As kings and priests with Christ, we have already are the revealing of Who He is. We are the saviors on Mount Zion, we are the trees planted by the River of Life. In Him, we are the ANSWER — the revealing of Christ in a people.
HERE IS MY DECISION: If there was anything Jesus didn’t do it for me, it didn’t need to be done!
It’s becoming an epidemic — the Church and believers are getting weaker! We see many promises that are not fulfilled. Many of our expectations are now dissolved and people are exhausted.
Many believers and those in ministry have felt derailed and robbed. What happened to their confessions and their faith? They are leaving in despair… going back to their old ways… feeling duped. Meanwhile, others preach empty words.
While writing this article, the Lord began to stir in my understanding that the main problem is that we don’t fully activate all that Jesus already did for us. We know the Word, we know Truth… but we haven’t fully walked in it.
Even today, the Sovereign God of all continues to show forth His love and His power. He does not change His mind. His love comes to fill you again with anticipation and Truth. Let hope arise. Grab onto hope.
Beloved, it is time to look to the things that God FINISHED and promised for you. It is time to call upon the Lord!
That discontent is Divine. It is a Divine discontent. God calls you today to move forward into greater revelation and superior insight. Hear the Spirit of the Lord say NEW things… be released and renewed in the spirit of your mind (Eph. 4:23).
The answer is tooooo SIMPLE!Jesus said, IT IS FINISHED – that means His work was completed and that completion is ever present. And… He actually meant what He said.
Please notice the chasm between what we believed in the past and what FINISHED really means. Don’t dismiss effects of this finality have on the New Creation reality in Christ! The passive voice of this verb indicates that the subject of the sentence (IT) is being acted upon. And the indicative mood indicates this is a statement of fact from the author’s perspective.
BUT… If He did FINISH, then there is nothing left for us to do! “… The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
One does not receive a free gift by working for it, or by doing something more. HE gives us eternal redemption.THE ONLY THING we must do is accept the FINISHED WORK, apprehend it, and believe it. The veil is rent – walk through.
- The Kingdom of God has already come.
- Salvation has come fully to you.
- You don’t have to do anything to deserve God’s love.
- You can reap what is already sown.
- God is NOT mad at you – or the world.
- He gives you strength to stand.
- As joint heirs with Jesus, you have victory over the world, over sin, and… over Satan.
- God speaks LIFE and not death.
If Jesus did not FINISH, He would not have been raised from the dead and our faith would be futile! (1 Cor. 15:17)
If Jesus did NOT FINISH everything… then He is not the Savior of the world, there is no need for the New Testament, no need for Church, no resurrection (He would not have had victory over death without finishing), no reason for celebration, and therefore, no hope.
And on the cross, He procured for us His abundant life, His glory, and total freedom! It’s already been done.
BUT… If He DID FINISH, then there is nothing left for us to do! “… The gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23). One does not receive a free gift by working for it, or by doing something more.
HE gives us eternal redemption. If what He said was not true, He would not have been raised from the dead and our faith would be futile! (1 Cor. 15:17)If you can comprehend a TRUTH – then IT is yours to activate. Otherwise, (if you can not understand) then you could continue to wallow in the religious repetitions of doing something more.
If this is true, you must begin to understand exactly WHAT else is now finished and HOW to grab hold of it. It’s time to repent of arrogant attitudes that would presume that you can add anything to what was PAID IN FULL already.
>> It’s not about being good enough but it is about positioning yourself in order to apprehend (grab, seize) what God has already given.
That means no more guilt, no more Ishmael projects, and no more unnecessary obligation. No more condemnation. No more begging and pleading. No more feeling like you did something wrong – or obligatory DOING.
DECIDE TODAY… When Jesus said, “It is finished,” He meant it. He is the author and FINISHER of your faith… YOU can do NOTHING to deserve it! It’s not about your theology. Not about our intellect. Not about your fastings and dutiful prayers. Not about your religion.
How can you do anything more to finish or bring about the work that Jesus has already completed?
Decide today to not live a life based on human effort (trying, always failing, never measuring up, and never being enough). KNOW that you are already holy, you are righteous, you are the image of God – complete and growing in Him!

A FEW RESPONES from last weeks article:
From Austrailia, Sereana said, “I believe the church is weak because we still say the old wine is better. There is a big need to SHIFT the mentality.Ali said, “The church is weak because they haven’t made a decision to let God lead. They haven’t allowed his spirit to flow and refuse to be in line. They refuse to love accordingly and are bound by a bunch of rules. They refuse to allow the love of God to inhabit the earth of everything.”
Richard says, “i have been in ministry, for 40,years. I am 82 years old. It seems to me that the Body of Christ has lost its passion…. When Jesus declared “It is finished.” I believe His Perfect plan of Salvation was complete, perfect, and finished. Nothing that man can add to it for God is Perfection. I am no longer pastoring but listening to what you have said has stirred my heart.”
Mia says, “The weak and scrawny church can also be attributed to lack of the pastors serving MEAT! I don’t mean that unkindly, but many churches don’t even operate under the power of the Holy Spirit due to leadership not being open to His leading; hence, He doesn’t come! The pastors control the mtg, not the Spirit of God! So whatever food is put on the table Is served with w/ a religious spirit. The sheep are starving for food that is filled with His life! Weak and scrawny, not because they even know any better, but have become accustomed to empty (of the Spirit) food! Sad…”
